The breathtaking beauty of St. Lucia is available all year long. However, have you ever wondered when is the best time to travel to St. Lucia?
I know I get questions like that all the time for St. Lucia and other parts of the world! So, I thought it was time to write up a little guide of the best times to visit St. Lucia.
Yes, I said times, because each time of year brings something incredible to this Caribbean island!
The months when there is very little rain in St. Lucia is from the middle of December through the middle of April. The sun is always shining during these months too, which is perfect for all that fun in the sun! You must be prepared for cooler temperatures during the months of December, January, and February. But those cooler temperatures are not as cold as you may think, so you can still enjoy the outdoors and numerous adventures.
You must be aware that this is when most people arrive on this Caribbean island. Therefore, it is going to be crowded if you choose to visit when the weather is super nice. If you want to avoid the crowds, you may want to consider visiting St. Lucia between the middle of April through June. The weather is still nice, and you will have more room to breathe.
There are numerous events held in St. Lucia throughout the year. While you may be tempted to visit during the dry season, you may want to reconsider and choose a time when a popular event is taking place.
Carnival is the biggest party of the year in St. Lucia. This event is held in July every year. You can listen to numerous carnival bands, while wandering around the streets of Castries. What a fun time to visit and is another one of the best times to travel St. Lucia.
The end of October brings Jounen Kweyol, or Creole Day. This event allows everyone to celebrate the Creole roots of St. Lucia. This is another large event in the country. Everyone dresses in fashionable clothes. They then party, while dancing to the music and eating traditional Saint Lucian cuisine.
The Food and Rum Festival is held in St. Lucia during the middle of September. There is lots of rum available to try, as well as lots of traditional foods. This is one of the best ways to taste everything St. Lucia has to offer in the shortest amount of time. This is definitely one of the best times to visit St. Lucia.
Since we are battling COVID-19, some of these major events won’t be happening in St. Lucia this year. However, they will be back better than ever in the future! You can easily stay safe while visiting St. Lucia during the next dry season if you do not want to wait. The country is taking many precautions to keep their country open while preventing the virus from spreading. Find out about them here.
