Punta Cana is known for its gorgeous beaches. In fact, it is those soft sandy beaches that attract travelers like yourself to the area. After all, who can resist sparkling water that laps the shoreline while beckoning to you to enter for a swim?! There are so many amazing things you can do on land while on vacation in Punta Cana. But did you know you can have thrilling adventures and romantic interludes with your partner out on the water too? You can and I guarantee you won’t miss the land for a second if you choose to spend your entire vacation in Punta Cana out on the water!
Whether you choose a catamaran, small boat, or massive party boat, you will have an incredible time during a Punta Cana boat ride. Daytime hours can be spent snorkeling in the Caribbean, while the nights are perfect for those romantic sunset cruises complete with dinner, drinks, and dancing. You can even do a pirate themed cruise if you want to add a little thrill and role playing to your boat ride.
Also, don’t forget about all the whale watching cruises you can do between the months of January and April. During these months, thousands of humpback whales arrive over in Samana Bay and Silver Bank. It is an excellent day trip option to include on your Punta Cana itinerary.
Parasailing can be fun, and it can be romantic at the same time. Imagine flying high above the water, as you take in the panoramic views of the water and the island. This is one of the best things to do on water in Punta Cana, because it offers you a different perspective of what you have seen down below. The coral reefs, lush landscape, and even the sandy shoreline will look even better from two hundred feet above the water.
Punta Cana is known for its massive waves, which are perfect for surfing. The best time for surfing in Punta Cana is the months of October through March. While you can surf close to your resort at Uvero Alto, I always recommend Macao Beach. There are fewer crowds at Macao Beach, so you won’t need to worry about sharing the perfect wave with anyone else.
A vacation in Punta Cana must include at least one day of scuba diving. While swimming around the coral reef with the marine life will be romantic, the Underwater Museum and Aston Shipwreck will add an adventure to your time in the water.
Scuba diving is quite popular in Punta Cana, but what if you love motorbike rides too? Well, in Punta Cana, you can take a scubadoo ride! After a short training, you can climb onto your scubadoo motorbike and head under the water for some unique scuba diving.
There are a few different places in Punta Cana where you can swim with the dolphins. It is best to stick with a tour guide for this adventure, because dolphins are wild animals and can be unpredictable in the wild. If you really want to take your vacation in Punta Cana to the next level, you may want to consider being a dolphin trainer for the day.
These are a few of the best things to do on the water in Punta Cana. I would love to know which water activity is at the top of your list, so we can add it to your Punta Cana vacation itinerary! I have many other ideas that I will share with you, as I am customizing your Punta Cana vacation.
