Are you used to walking around the “oval shape” of the decks on most cruise ships? You know, where it seems like it takes forever to reach one end of the ship to the other. Yet, you don’t really get lost, because the oval shape makes it simple to figure out. Well, my husband and I are used to feeling that way. And yet, on our adult cruise on Virgin Voyages, we felt like we were more on a floating resort. However, we didn’t realize it until we were listening to one of the bands play. At one point, the lead singer shared that our ship had pockets. And it looked, and felt, more like a floating resort than a traditional cruise ship. And I couldn’t agree more!
Today, I want to share a little more about the “pockets” of the floating resort for the Virgin Voyages cruise we took. Did you miss the blog post I wrote about a few of the activities available on our adult cruise? If you did, you can check it out here!
Or you can keep reading about some of my favorite areas on Virgin Voyages floating resort.
The Social Club is what I would consider the “Fun Hub” of the ship. It is the perfect place to socialize and meet new friends.
During your time at The Social Club, you can play air hockey, foosball, board games, and shuffleboard. And when you get hungry, I recommend heading over to the dining area. You can get soft pretzels, popcorn, wings, and adult shakes. Everything you need to keep you full while you keep having fun!
You don’t need to dine inside when you want a romantic meal on this floating resort. Simply head to The Dock for a Mediterranean inspired meal. There you can sit in a cabana like space and feel the wind in your hair while you dine.
The Arcade is behind The Social Club. It is the place to be if you want to relive the video games of the 80s! Donkey Kong and Pacman are the two most popular machines. Head there early if you want to play for a while.
You won’t need to wait until you get back home to have that slice of pizza you are craving while on this floating resort. My husband and I loved the pizza. And we may have indulged more than once during our trip.
There is always a wait for these personal sized pizzas that are freshly made. So, plan ahead and don’t wait until you are starving to place your order.
The Galley is so much more than the buffet you would find on other cruise ships. I considered this to be more like a food court in a mall. There is a taco stand, hamburger stand, salad stand, and more.
Now, there are a couple of different ways you can get your food in The Galley. First, you can go directly up to the stand of your choice and order what you want. Then you can find a table to eat.
Or you can sit down at a table and pull up the menu via the QR code on your smartphone. Place your order on your smartphone and then put the flag up on your table. A server will then bring your order over to you when it is ready.
I don’t know about you, but when I am on vacation, I am more than happy to utilize that second option!
Working out can be difficult while on vacation. However, on this floating resort of a cruise ship, you will find a running track and quite a few other options for getting your workout done. In addition to the treadmills, bikes, and other machines, you will discover teeter totters, swings, and a few other fun pieces of equipment.
The Perch with Yoga is going to be your favorite space if you want to get a little “me time” or “relaxation time” during your vacation. It is a quiet space that is perfect for meditation, stretching, and yoga.
I could honestly go on and on about all the different areas on this Virgin Voyages floating resort. However, you really need to experience it for yourself. Which is why I recommend choosing Virgin Voyages for your next adult cruise!
