Or at least inspire you to consider adding an excursion you will love while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta. Best Excursions in Puerto Vallarta for Your Next Vacation 

Rhythms of the Night Show 

The Rhythms of the Night show is an amazing excursion that lasts for five hours. It includes a boat ride, dinner, and entertainment.  

Your excursion will begin with a cruise out in Banderas Bay, as you are taken to Caletas Beach. This beach is located in a secluded cove. After getting off the boat, you will walk down a torch-lit path to where your dinner awaits.  

A buffet filled with steak, fish, chicken, salads, and lots of desserts will capture your attention right away. I recommend going back for seconds if you can, because you won’t want to miss tasting a bite of each dish.  

Once dinner is over, the fun will begin. You will know the show is starting when you hear the beat of the drums. Head over to the amphitheater at that time if you haven’t walked over yet.  

Grab a seat and watch a performance filled with dancing and music. Throughout the performance, you will learn how different cultures shaped the country of Mexico.  

At the end of the performance, you will walk back to the boat. Enjoy a nightcap, as you dance until the boat reaches the shoreline.  

This will be an evening you will never forget!  

Sea Safari 

This sea safari will be like no other safari you have ever been on. It all begins with your walking through a village where fewer than five hundred indigenous people live. Your guide will share the locals’ lifestyle and culture during this time.  

Once that part of the tour is over, you will go on a horseback ride through the Sierra Madre mountains. A little swim at a gorgeous waterfall will be exactly what you need to get refreshed.  

Of course, this wouldn’t be a sea safari if you didn’t head out into the sea with your snorkeling gear. Your guide will share what can be seen beneath the water with you. Then you can head out into the nearby coves to see what you can discover.  

I recommend having a waterproof camera with you, so you can capture your experiences. This will ensure you can look back and relive these memories forever.  

Whale Photo Safari 

Whale watching is one of the best excursions in Puerto Vallarta when you visit between the months of December and March. During this excursion, you will board an inflatable speedboat. The boat will then take you to Banderas Bay to see the humpback whales.  

The captain of the boat may need to drive around the bay for a little bit before they find the whales on the day of your excursion. This is normal since whales do not stay in the same place all the time.  

Don’t worry, you will be near the whales as soon as possible, so you can take photographs. I recommend keeping your camera ready at all times, because you never know when one will breach.  

Outdoor Adventure 

You will have plenty of options when it comes to thrilling and heart racing adventures when you are on vacation in Puerto Vallarta. One of the best excursions though is this Outdoor Adventure.  

Your day begins with a speedboat ride from Puerto Vallarta’s Maritime Terminal Dock. The boat will take you to where you will have a little off-road action in a 4×4. This adventure will take you off the beaten path in the Sierra Madre mountains.  

After your off-road adventure, it will be time to head above the trees to go ziplining. Photos will be taken during this entire Outdoor Adventure excursion. So, you will have plenty to choose from to take home with you. They may be perfect for your next holiday card!  

Tropical Tour 

Sometimes you need a Tropical Tour during your vacation to really feel like you are in paradise. Thankfully, there is the Tropical Tour excursion in Puerto Vallarta!  

The fun begins at the boardwalk. From there, your guide will take you through the city to see the sights and to do a little shopping.  

When you tire of the city, it will be time to head out into nature. The best place to go is Los Arcos, which is a rock formation that emerged from the water in Banderas Bay.  

After a quick stop at the Bay of Mismaloya, it will be time for lunch at a local restaurant. The end of lunch signals the end of the tour. But that doesn’t mean you can’t go back out to finish exploring on your own.  

Marietas Eco Discovery 

You cannot spend time in Puerto Vallarta and not do a little snorkeling. During this Puerto Vallarta excursion, you will have ample time to see the eco system via snorkeling and kayaking.  

This tour takes place at the Marietas Islands. You will see plenty of marine life under the water while snorkeling. After snorkeling, you can hop into a kayak to explore the national park within the islands. This is an excellent way to see the caverns and all the volcanic rock.  

More snorkeling is possible before the tour is over, and you head back to the mainland.
