Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort & Spa 

The Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort & Spa is one of the best family resorts in Puerto Vallarta. It is conveniently located only five minutes from the downtown area. This ensures you can explore downtown easily, yet still be away from the hustle and bustle.  

There are more than three hundred suites at this family resort. Many of those suites overlook Banderas Bay. Each suite offers dark wood furnishings, as well as a balcony or terrace. Both of those are perfect places for relaxing once the kids have gone to bed.  

You won’t need to worry about whether or not the kids will eat, thanks to all the different restaurants on site. You can easily find something they will eat if they are picky eaters.  

When you are not exploring downtown Puerto Vallarta, or out on an amazing excursion, the whole family will be at the swimming pool or the beach. And I won’t judge if you decide to sneak away to the spa for a couple hours. I’ll actually plan your escape for you!  

Dreams Bahia Mita Surf & Spa Resort 

This family resort in Puerto Vallarta is further away from the downtown area. However, that won’t derail your plans to get out to see the sights. A few of the excursions available from this resort include opportunities to see Los Arcos National Park and the Marietas Islands.  

When you are not out exploring you will all be at the beach or the swimming pool. I recommend planning your excursions carefully, so you have plenty of time to swim. If not, the kids may get cranky, because we know it is always about the pool!  

If the kids don’t want to attend one of the themed parties at night, and are old enough, they can stay in your luxurious suite. These suites are quite spacious and come with all the amenities your kids will need to stay out of trouble for the evening.  

I recommend booking the suite with the private pool if you can. This way you can all go swimming without needing to leave your room all the time. Remember, it’s always about the pool!  

RIU Vallarta 

There are more than six hundred rooms at this all-inclusive hotel in Puerto Vallarta. Everyone in your family will love the four swimming pools. Although, there may be arguments about whether you spend all your time at the pool or head down to the beach occasionally. When those fights break out, you may want to leave your partner with the kids to deal with it and head to the spa. Hey, it’s an option!  

Buffets breakfasts are available here every morning. As for lunch and dinner, you can dine at any of the on-site restaurants. Basically, no one in your family will go hungry while on this vacation.  

You won’t be bored either with activities that include volleyball, golf, kayaking, and so much more. If you have younger kids, you can drop them off at the RiuLand Kids’ Club. They can have fun there while you go do adult things.  

Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta 

If you really want a resort in the middle of all the action, I recommend Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta. It is right in the Hotel Zone, which means you will be near everything. This is perfect for families who love to be on the go for the duration of their vacation.  

The Mexican-style rooms have marble floors, as well as either a balcony or terrace. You will love all the space you have in these rooms. Especially since you can escape outside once the kids have gone to bed.  

If you have younger kids, you can send them to the Fiesta Kids Club. Take advantage of this adult time to swim in the SONNE Beach Club infinity pool. It is an adults-only pool located on the roof of the hotel. Or you can go to the Nawake Spa for a little pampering.  

The on-site restaurants serve all types of cuisine, so everyone can get what they want at mealtime. Although, you may miss a few meals there if you are out on one of the amazing excursions in Puerto Vallarta.
