Stunning is the one word that comes to mind when I think about the Hawaiian Island of Maui. Gorgeous sights are everywhere. Some are right in front of you. Others are hidden gems and unexpected. You won’t want to miss any of them during a romantic vacation in Maui. But what to do while on vacation in Maui? It all depends on what will put that spark back into the romance department of your life. Today, I’m going to share a few ideas and show you what is possible for your next romantic vacation in Maui.
We all know long strolls on the beach, candlelit dinners, and watching the sunset equal romance. But how about adding a few unique options for your romantic vacation in Maui? After all, there is no better place to steal a kiss, have a laugh, or just simply be together.
Waterfalls are plentiful on the island of Maui. You can find them almost anywhere. So, why not enjoy a picnic near one of them for a romantic afternoon?
Simply pack a basket, or bag, with your favorite foods. When you arrive at the waterfall of your choice, spread out a blanket, unpack the food, and enjoy the ambiance. Talk. Embrace. Have fun.
To get you started with which waterfall to visit, here are some of the best waterfalls on Maui:
You may need to hike to reach some of the waterfalls in Maui. However, there are a few that are quite close to the parking areas. We can discuss these options, as I am planning your next romantic vacation in Maui.
If you don’t want to head out to the local waterfalls, you can always consider a picnic on the beach. That will still check off all the boxes!
Catamaran cruises are popular in the Hawaiian Islands. Probably because there is nothing better than being out in the water, soaking it all in. Oh, and you can’t forget about the spectacular views you see from the water.
If you want to check out the local marine life, relax with your partner, and have a good time, take one of these cruises. There are so many to choose from.
I find the sunset catamaran cruises are the most romantic. Especially those that include dinner and cocktails. However, you can do a daytime one that includes snorkeling if you wish.
Basically, whatever fits into your idea of romance for your vacation in Maui.
Okay, so you need a partner that is willing to do a spa day with you for this idea to work. Totally worth it if you can convince them though!
You will find there are plenty of spas on the island of Maui. Actually, I can book your accommodations at a resort that has a spa. So much easier! I can even arrange for all your spa treatments, whether you do a couple hours or a full day.
Think about all the relaxing the two of you can do while getting a massage. Or a facial or other treatment. Life will be so much better afterwards.
Maui may be an island, but did you know there are areas of it that can only be seen from above? It’s true! That means you must head up to the skies if you want to see the hidden gems of this island.
You can choose from a few different tour options. Some of those will allow you to keep the helicopter doors off for unobstructed views and pictures. I always say to go for the option that makes you the most comfortable. And then enjoy your time up in the sky with the love of your life.
If you don’t feel like going up in a helicopter, you can always choose to go parasailing in Maui. You will get an adrenaline rush, as you soar high above the water. You won’t catch all the tucked away spaces on the island. You will get to see the island from a different perspective though.
There is no rule that states you must spend your entire vacation on the island of Maui. Especially since you can take a quick 90-minute ferry ride to the island of Lanai. Over there, you can swim in the tide pools. Take selfies at Sweetheart Rock. Or snorkel with marine life in Hulopoe Bay.
If you don’t want to leave Maui to snorkel, head over to Molokini Crater. You can be near all sorts of marine life. Lava tubes and caves are nearby too if you are an experienced diver.
The Sacred Garden is the perfect place to enjoy solitude and become one with your partner. There are two walking labyrinths, as well as meditation gardens. Take a walk. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a relaxation area. Remember why you chose to be with the person you are with.
Romance is everywhere on the island of Maui. This is the reason it is one of the most popular destinations for romantic vacations. I know you will find everything you are looking for when you choose Maui for your next romantic vacation.
