Out of all the Hawaiian Islands, Oahu is the one that usually tops the list of most romantic. After all, you can’t go wrong with the gorgeous scenery, delicious Hawaiian foods, and the sparkling ocean water. Add in the stunning sunsets and you may never want to leave paradise and return to reality! This is why I love to recommend Oahu to couples who want to go on romantic vacations. Today, I am going to share all the romantic things you can do during a romantic vacation in Oahu.  

Romantic Vacations in Oahu 

Take Long Walks on the Beach 

One of the best ways to rekindle the romance, and spark conversations, is to take long walks on the beach. There are so many beaches to choose from in Oahu. Waikiki Beach is the most popular beach. It is always crowded.  

Beaches on the North Shore aren’t as busy, which makes them perfect when you are looking for a little tranquility. I love spending time on Secret Island Beach. It is part of Kualoa Ranch. While visiting this beach, you can relax or spend part of the day doing activities like beach volleyball.  

Participate in Water Sports 

If you and your partner love going on adventures during your romantic vacations, I recommend trying out some water sports in Oahu. This is the perfect destination for learning how to surf. You can also head out into the ocean to see the marine life while snorkeling.  

Paddleboarding, kayaking, and swimming are other adventures you won’t want to pass up.  

Visit Movie and Television Filming Locations 

Some couples love watching movies together. If this is you and your partner, you will enjoy visiting the different movie and television filming locations in Oahu. One of the best ways to see where Lost or Hunger Games was filmed is to take a movie sites tour.

Go Swimming with the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles 

It is easy to see Hawaiian green sea turtles during your romantic vacation in Oahu. However, if you want to get closer to these local creatures, it is best to head into the water. There are many tours that will have you snorkeling and swimming with these animals on the South Shore of the island.  

Visit a Winery for a Wine Tasting 

There is only one winery on the island of Oahu. That doesn’t mean you should keep wine tasting off your list of things to do. Instead, I recommend visiting Oeno Winemaking to taste their wine. During your visit, you can create your own wine label to remember this romantic vacation.  

If you don’t love drinking wine, you can always try the beer and spirits at Bottleheads. Or venture over to Island Distillers to try their newest concoctions.  

Head Out on a Helicopter Tour 

There are quite a few rushing waterfalls scattered around the island of Oahu. You can drive to some of them and hike to others. One of the best ways to see many of these waterfalls, and the rest of the spectacular scenery on the island, is by taking a helicopter tour.  

From up in the air, you will see views you can’t see anywhere else. It is one of the best things to do during romantic vacations in Oahu.  

Hike to Diamond Head 

Hiking to Diamond Head is one of the most popular things to do on Oahu. Some couples skip this hike, because they think it can’t possibly be romantic. However, what is more romantic than being outside in nature, surrounded by gorgeous scenery, and being able to take selfies during the adventure?  

Drink Coffee at a Coffee Farm 

Just like there is only one winery on Oahu, there is also only one coffee farm. Green World Coffee Farm allows you to learn how coffee is grown, harvested, and roasted. At the end of your visit, you can taste a freshly brewed cup of coffee and even buy some coffee beans to take home.  

Go Whale Watching 

Depending on the time of year you take your romantic vacation in Oahu, you may have the opportunity to go whale watching. Whales can usually be seen near this island between December and March. Head out on a whale watching cruise for the best chances to see whales and dolphins in their natural habitat.  

Head Out on a Sunset Cruise 

You can easily watch the sunset from any beach in Oahu. However, one of the best ways to really appreciate Hawaiian sunsets is from a boat. Sparks will really fly, as you and your partner relax on the boat with drinks in hand.
