You can watch the sun come up over the horizon almost anywhere on this island. However, if you really want to up the romance, you must head over to the East Shore. So, wake up early one morning and head to the beach on the east side of the island to watch the magic as it is happening.  

Enjoy a Picnic at Kilauea Point 

Kilauea Point is part of the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge. Thousands of migratory birds arrive within these thirty plus acres to nest, forage for food, or get some much-needed rest. While you can check out the birds during your picnic, you may be more interested in the Kilauea Lighthouse. It sits near the ocean and has quite a bit of history.  

Enjoy the Silence at the Limahuli Garden and Preserve 

The Limahuli Garden and Preserve is a botanical garden that offers views of nearby Mount Makana. Hold hands as you and your partner walk around the terraced gardens during a self-guided tour. Find a place to sit along the way and simply enjoy the quiet that surrounds you.  

Check Out the Na Pali Coast 

The Na Pali Coast is along the northwestern shore of Kauai. You will both love sailing the Na Pali Coast later in the day to watch the sunset. Take a Long Walk on Poipu Beach 

One of the best beaches for long walks on the sand is Poipu Beach. Walk hand in hand, as the waves wash over your feet. Talk, laugh, or simply enjoy the romantic silence, as you spend this cherished time together.  

Renew Your Vows at Waioli Hui’ia Church 

The Waioli Hui’ia Church dates back to 1912. This church is on the North Shore. It is the perfect place to renew your vows. If you are interested in this, let me know during the planning process. I can make all the arrangements for you.  

Explore Hanalei Town 

Authentic Hawaiian stores are scattered all around Hanalei Town. Those stores make this area one of the best places to pick up the souvenirs you need to take home. So, head into all those local stores and find the gifts your friends and family will love.  

Before you leave this charming town, stop by the food trucks. They all have delicious Hawaiian foods you won’t be able to resist!
