Are you ready to break free from 2020 and start planning a family-friendly beach vacation for 2021?? I know I am ready for some time in the sun and the sand with my family! Since we are all going to be staying stateside for a while, I thought I would share some of the top family-friendly beach vacation destinations for 2021. Each beach destination offers something unique. There should be at least one on this list that you and your family will love!

Top Family-Friendly Beach Vacations for 2021

Sanibel Island and Captiva, Florida

There is no shortage of beaches in Florida. But the beaches on both Sanibel and Captiva will have you thinking you have finally arrived in paradise! The water surrounding the beaches on Sanibel Island and Captiva is nice and calm. Therefore, it is perfect for kids of all ages when it comes to swimming. When you are not in the water, you can spend hours wandering up and down the shoreline looking for seashells. The Wildlife Drive within the JN Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge is another popular option, especially around naptime. Of course, don’t forget to watch the dolphins playing out in the water when you are relaxing on the sand.

Family-Friendly Hilton Head, South Carolina

Getting to the beach from your hotel room is really easy when you are on vacation in Hilton Head. The best hotels are located right on the sandy shoreline, so you can be out claiming your spot in a matter of minutes. When you are tired of swimming, you can venture over to one of the multiple lighthouses. Harbour Town is nearby, as are numerous golf courses. If your kids love shopping, you can even head out to the outlets to find some amazing deals.

Cape Cod, Massachusetts, for a great Family Friendly beach vacation

Cape Cod may seem small to you when you are looking at a map, but it is filled with too many beaches to count. We can find the perfect beach for your family beach vacation or you can choose to do a little beach-hopping to try them all. I happen to love Sandy Neck Beach, because there are plenty of sand dunes and marshes to explore.

Santa Barbara, California

There are four incredible beaches within Santa Barbara in California. Those four beaches are Leadbetter, East, West, and Arroyo Burro. Only Arroyo Burro and East are family-friendly beaches, so I recommend sticking with those. Over at Arroyo Burro Beach, you will find trails near the calm water, as well as the Watershed Resource Center. East Beach has lifeguards and a playground. There are also picnic areas for all those times when everyone seems to be starving!

Ogunquit Beach, Maine for your next family beach vacation

There is nothing better than spending time on a beach in Maine for family vacations! This gorgeous beach is fewer than ten miles from Kennebunk, Maine, which is the place to spend the summer months. You can spend hours in the water and on the sand before setting off to do a little shopping at the stores nearby. The surf at this beach is perfect for beginners, whether swimming, surfing, or bodysurfing. At night, you can collect seashells on the shoreline, as the moon and stars come out.

Lincoln City Beach, Oregon

The massive rock formations around this beach create a picturesque view from the sand and the water. Out in the water, you will see colorful tidal pools. Those pools are filled with all types of marine life that includes starfish and sea urchins. While you might want to spend all your time in the water at this beach, there are other things you can do. One of those things is flying a kite. You may think it is a strange thing to do at the beach, but this is considered the Kite Capital of the World. So, I say grab a kite and act like a kid again!

These are some of the top family-friendly beach vacations for 2021. I know at least one of these beaches will pique your interest. However, if you have another one in mind, let me know. I can plan your next family beach vacation anywhere in the US!
