Have you been looking for ways to increase the romance in your life? The kids are getting older. Maybe they have even moved out. This means, you and your partner, have lots of time to stare at each other and wonder what is next. It can be difficult to transition to your more romantic side after years of putting things on the back burner. However, Princess Cruise Line makes it simple to bring the romance back. Especially when you choose to take a romantic vacation in Alaska.

The Adventures that Await During a Romantic Vacation in Alaska with Princess Cruise Line

Juneau

Your time in the Port of Juneau can be filled with numerous romantic activities. Consider exploring the ice caves within the Mendenhall Glacier. Or walking on the Juneau Ice Field. Learn about the 1898 Gold Rush or take a hike through the lush Tongass National Rainforest.

The options in Juneau are endless. Use your imagination and let me help you choose which adventure will ignite the passion during your cruise in Alaska.

Skagway

There is nothing more romantic than enjoying a picnic near the Lower Reid Falls while in Skagway. That isn’t the only option when you are in this port of call though. This town may be small, but there is always something happening.

One of my favorite romantic date options is riding the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway. Hold hands as you look out and enjoy the views of glaciers, mountains, and historical sites. Strolling through Jewell Gardens or hiking through the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park are other possibilities.

Ketchikan

Ketchikan may be known as the Salmon Capital of the World. That doesn’t mean you won’t find romance there though. This is another area where you can explore the Tongass National Forest. I prefer to take a tour of Misty Fjords National Monument when I am on a romantic vacation in Alaska. If that doesn’t excite you, maybe kayaking out on the sea will.

Just don’t forget to stop by Creek Street. This former red-light district is the perfect place for a romantic stroll.

Inside Passage

Inside Passage is a beautiful destination in Alaska. And you will have the chance to see part of it during your Princess Cruise Line vacation in Alaska. One of the most romantic adventures within the Inside Passage is taking a scenic boat tour of Prince of Wales Island. During this adventure, you can see seals, whales, and sea otters. If you are extremely lucky, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a picnic lunch at Canoe Point Waterfall.

More heart-racing adventures can be found in Haines. That is where you can watch brown bears wander around. These bears are everywhere. However, you will definitely see quite a few of them down near the Chilkoot River during the salmon run in the month of August. If you want to stay a safe distance from the bears, head out on Chilkoot Lake in a kayak.

Glacier Bay National Park

Glacier Bay National Park is one of the only national parks that screams romance and fun. Yes, you can hike any of the trails within the park. I recommend doing one that leads you to one of the spectacular waterfalls though. Rockwell Falls and Aster Falls are near each other. And McDonald Falls requires no hiking at all.

Adventure lovers will want to do a little white-water rafting. Although, if you are in dire need of some downtime, you can relax on a couple of the beaches within the park.

Hubbard Glacier

Hubbard Glacier is the largest tidewater glacier in North America. There are only a couple options for seeing the Hubbard Glacier. One of those options is taking a cruise in Alaska. However, in order to reach the glacier, the weather must be very cooperative.

Prince William Sound

The area of Prince William Sound is full of towering mountains topped in snow, lush forests, and spectacular glaciers that lead to the sparkling water of the sound. This is one of the best places to see whales and sea lions in Alaska.

However, a visit to Prince William Sound will also give you the chance to enjoy a little romance in one of the nearby towns. The towns of Whittier, Cordova, and Valdez all deserve a little attention. You can walk along the shoreline, kayak out in the water, or hike the trails of Chugach National Forest. I highly recommend a romantic drive along the Copper River Highway.

Can you believe all the adventures that await during a romantic vacation in Alaska with Princess Cruise Line? Alaska is a magical place to visit. And cruises are the best way to travel when you want to explore and never change hotel rooms. Plus, where else can you have romantic dinners and never need to worry about how you are returning to your accommodations!
