Guide 1 of 3
Helping you make smarter travel decisions with confidence.
Have you ever found the perfect Celebrity Cruises itinerary, only to wonder why the price changed the next time you looked? Or maybe you’ve compared fares and asked yourself, “What’s actually included?”
If so, you’re not alone.
Cruise pricing can feel confusing, especially if you’re planning your first Celebrity cruise or haven’t sailed in a few years. The good news is that once you understand how pricing works, you’ll be better equipped to compare your options and choose the vacation that offers the best value for your travel style.
As a Trusted Travel Advisor, one of my favorite parts of working with clients is helping them look beyond the advertised fare. The goal isn’t simply to find the lowest price—it’s to help you choose the vacation that’s right for you.

Why Understanding Cruise Pricing Matters
One of the biggest misconceptions about cruising is that the advertised fare tells the whole story.
In reality, your total vacation investment may include much more than your stateroom. Depending on the fare you choose and how you like to travel, you may also want to budget for beverages, Wi-Fi, shore excursions, specialty dining, gratuities, travel insurance, airfare, or a hotel stay before your cruise.
That’s why I encourage my clients to compare value, not just price.
A cruise that costs a little more upfront may actually provide a better overall experience if it includes the amenities you were planning to purchase anyway.
Understanding Celebrity Cruises Fare Options
Celebrity Cruises currently offers travelers flexibility by providing different fare options, allowing you to choose the experience that best fits your needs.
For many sailings, you’ll see a Cruise-Only fare, which includes your accommodations, dining in included restaurants, entertainment, and access to onboard activities. If you prefer to customize your experience, this option allows you to add extras such as beverage packages or Wi-Fi separately.
On many itineraries, you’ll also have the option to choose an All Included fare. This bundles your cruise with Wi-Fi and a beverage package, making it a convenient choice for travelers who know they’ll use those amenities during their vacation.
Neither option is automatically the better choice.
The right choice depends on how you travel, what you value, and the type of vacation experience you’re hoping to create.

Why Cruise Prices Change
Another question I hear often is, “Should I wait to book?”
The answer depends on your priorities.
Cruise fares are dynamic, meaning they can change based on demand, availability, promotions, and how close the sailing date is. Popular itineraries, holiday sailings, and desirable cabin categories often become more expensive as availability decreases.
While no one can predict exactly how prices will change, booking earlier often gives you the best selection of cabins and more options to choose from.
That’s one reason working with a knowledgeable Travel Advisor can be so valuable. Instead of trying to guess the best time to book, you’ll have someone helping you evaluate your options based on your travel goals.
Travel Smarter Tip
Instead of asking, “What’s the cheapest cruise?”
Try asking,
“Which cruise offers the best value for the vacation I want to experience?”
That simple shift in thinking can help you make decisions you’ll feel good about long after you’ve returned home.
Tina’s Take
“Clients are like seashells, no two are alike. Each one will tell me, I want the best deal. However, what they want to experience is very different. One may want to have dinner sitting down every night where the next will want to have a buffet each night. One thinks that a balcony is a must have and another would rather have a longer cruise and an inside cabin. Some clients want an all-inclusive experience; some want to prefer to keep their vacation simple and only pay for the extras they’ll actually use. Neither is wrong – neither is right. My role isn’t to tell you which option to choose. It’s to help you understand your choices, answer your questions, and make sure the vacation you book fits your travel style, your budget, and your expectations. That’s why every conversation begins with getting to know you—not just the destination you’re considering.” ~ Tina Moczynski, Cruise Specialist, Shores And More Travel.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the lowest cruise fare always offer the best value?
Not necessarily. A lower fare may not include amenities you’ll want, such as Wi-Fi or a beverage package. Comparing the total vacation cost often provides a better picture of overall value.
Is it better to book early?
In many cases, yes. Booking early often provides the widest selection of cabins and itineraries, although pricing and promotions can change over time.
Should I choose Cruise-Only or All Included?
It depends on your travel style. If you plan to use Wi-Fi and enjoy beverages throughout your cruise, an All Included fare may be worth considering. If you prefer a more customized experience, Cruise-Only may be a better fit.
