Then comes the question that can be surprisingly difficult:
Which cabin should I choose?
Inside, Ocean View, Veranda, Infinite Veranda, Concierge Class, AquaClass, The Retreat—the choices can feel overwhelming.
Here's what I want you to know: the most expensive cabin isn't automatically the best cabin for you.
Your cabin should match the way you plan to experience your vacation. How much time will you spend there? Is having private outdoor space important? Do you value spa access? Are you sensitive to noise or motion?
Those questions matter just as much as the cabin category printed on your reservation.

Start With How You Travel
Before comparing cabin categories, I encourage you to think about how you'll actually use your cabin.
Are you someone who loves having morning coffee outside while watching the ocean? A veranda may be important.
Will you be out exploring from breakfast until bedtime? You might be perfectly happy in an Inside or Ocean View cabin and prefer to put more of your vacation budget toward experiences.
Do relaxation and wellness play a big role in your ideal vacation? AquaClass may deserve a closer look.
This is why I don't believe there is one "best" cabin on a cruise ship.
There's only the cabin that's the best fit for you.
Understanding the Main Celebrity Cabin Categories
Celebrity offers several accommodation categories, although the exact choices and layouts vary by ship.
Inside and Ocean View
Inside cabins don't have an exterior window, while Ocean View cabins provide a window looking out to sea.
These can be smart options for travelers who don't expect to spend much time in their cabin or who would rather invest more of their vacation budget elsewhere.
And that's an important distinction: choosing a lower cabin category doesn't mean you're having a lesser vacation.
Veranda Staterooms
For many travelers, having private outdoor space changes the cruise experience.
A traditional Veranda gives you a separate outdoor area where you can step outside, enjoy the sea air, watch the ship arrive in port, or simply sit quietly with your morning coffee.
But this is also where understanding the specific ship becomes important.
Not every Celebrity veranda is designed the same way.
The Infinite Veranda Is Different
If you're considering one of Celebrity's Edge Series ships, you may encounter the Infinite Veranda.
And this is one cabin I particularly want travelers to understand before booking.
Unlike a traditional balcony with a door separating your cabin from an outdoor space, an Infinite Veranda incorporates that space into the room. A floor-to-ceiling window lowers electronically, allowing the area to become open to the sea.
Celebrity lists its standard Edge Infinite Veranda at 243 square feet of total living space, including a 42-square-foot veranda area.
Some travelers love the design because it creates a larger-feeling living area and expansive views.
Others strongly prefer stepping through a door onto a completely separate outdoor balcony.
Neither traveler is wrong.
This is exactly why understanding layout matters—not just the word "veranda" on a cabin description.
Concierge Class or AquaClass?
These two categories can create another common question.
Concierge Class
Concierge Class provides additional services and amenities beyond a standard veranda cabin.
Depending on the ship, benefits can include services such as a dedicated concierge, welcome amenities, and other added touches.
The important question is whether you'll value and use those additional benefits.
AquaClass
AquaClass is designed around wellness.
Benefits can include exclusive dining at Blu, access to thermal facilities, a spa concierge, and additional wellness-oriented amenities. Specific benefits can vary by ship.
If visiting the spa, relaxing in thermal areas, and dining at Blu sound like an important part of your vacation, AquaClass could offer meaningful value.
If those aren't priorities, another cabin category may suit you better.
Again, we're not asking which cabin is "better."
We're asking which experience fits you.
What About The Retreat?
The Retreat is Celebrity's suite experience and goes well beyond simply providing a larger cabin.
Depending on the ship and suite category, Retreat guests can receive access to exclusive spaces, dining, amenities, and dedicated service.
For some travelers, those benefits are an important part of the vacation.
For others, they'd rather choose a Veranda cabin and put the difference toward shore excursions, another vacation, or something else they value.
That's why price alone shouldn't make this decision.
Don't Forget About Location
Cabin category gets most of the attention, but location can be just as important.
What's above me?
What's below me?
Am I near elevators?
How far am I from the places I'll visit most?
If you're sensitive to motion, location may be particularly important to you. If you're sensitive to noise, what's located around your cabin deserves attention, too.
Connecting doors, obstructed views, accessible configurations, sleeping arrangements, and even balcony styles can vary.
This is one of those times when looking at the actual deck plan—not simply choosing a cabin number from a list—can make a real difference. . “This is why I take the time to search not only for the best value, but the best value for each client. Saving a couple of hundred dollars on one cabin category isn’t a savings if you are a light sleeper and then you are up at night because the dance club is right above you. Or if you are someone who sleeps in late, and you are just above the galley or just below a restaurant or public area where they are cleaning. Spa access. Blu. More included amenities.
Once you know what matters to you, choosing the right cabin becomes much easier.
