Of course, if you do, I won't judge.
Different dining choices can also be valuable when traveling with multiple generations and multiple preferences.
And adults shouldn't feel guilty about wanting a little vacation within the family vacation. Time at the spa or a quiet drink while other family members enjoy their activities can make the time you spend together even better.

Some families don't need to be close to downtown because their ideal vacation revolves around the resort, beach, pool, and selected excursions.

I want to know about the people traveling.
Who is coming? What are their ages? Does anyone have mobility considerations? Are you a family that loves excursions, or does half the group consider walking from the lounge chair to the pool an ambitious afternoon?
How much togetherness do you actually want?
Those answers matter.
