If your holiday season comes with a side of spreadsheets, grocery lists, and “Did anyone remember to bring the thing?”… I see you.

You love your people. You love the memories. But let’s be honest: for a lot of women—especially the ones holding careers, families, homes, and everyone’s feelings together—the holidays can feel less like magic and more like a full-time production.

So here’s a bold idea that’s becoming a very smart trend: Let someone else host the holidays this year.

Not in a “run away from life” kind of way—more like a “choose joy on purpose” kind of way.

That’s exactly why I created Sea Ya Later 2026, my hosted holiday cruise sailing December 2026 on Norwegian Breakaway, roundtrip from New Orleans. It’s a celebration you don’t have to manage… and a vacation you actually get to enjoy.

Slide into cruise mode on NCL 💦🚢

What is a Holiday Hosting Detox?

A Holiday Hosting Detox is when you stop trying to do it all and choose a holiday that feels like a holiday.

Picture this: - You wake up and don’t immediately start cooking. - Your “to-do list” is replaced with “What sounds fun today?” - Meals show up like magic (and you don’t clean a single dish). - You still make memories… but without the pressure.

It’s not skipping the holidays. It’s upgrading them.

Why a holiday cruise works for couples, friends, and families (including adult kids)

This is the part people don’t realize until they do it once: cruising is one of the best formats for holiday travel because it lets everyone be together without being on top of each other.

Couples: reconnect without planning a thing

You know what’s romantic? Not managing everything. - Dinner dates without the stress - Shows, music, and late-night strolls without coordinating plans - Sea days that feel like a reset button

Friends and sisters: double occupancy + double the fun

This is one of my favorite ways to travel—two women, one cabin, zero drama. - You split the cost and share the memories - You can do activities together or take separate breaks (both are important!) - You’ll laugh so much you’ll forget what day it is (in the best way)

Family with adult children: together-but-independent (the sweet spot)

If your kids are grown, you already know: you want quality time… but not 24/7 togetherness. Cruising gives you: - Built-in options for everyone’s interests - Easy meet-ups for meals and excursions - The freedom for adult kids to do their own thing without anyone feeling guilty

Caribbean loop from New Orleans 🌊🚢

Sea Ya Later 2026: the holiday cruise that gives you your joy back

Sea Ya Later 2026 is designed to make the holidays feel lighter, brighter, and honestly… more fun.

This hosted group cruise is a 7-night Caribbean itinerary from New Orleans with stops that feel like a tropical victory lap: - Cozumel, Mexico - Roatán, Honduras - Harvest Caye, Belize - Costa Maya, Mexico …and then back to New Orleans.

It’s a perfect mix of “do the most” and “do absolutely nothing,” depending on what your soul needs.

Want beach time? You’ll have options. Want culture and exploring? You’ll have options. Want a day where your biggest decision is pool chair or shaded lounge chair? Yes, friend. Options.

And because this is my hosted group, you’re not just booking a cruise—you’re stepping into an experience that’s easier from the start: - You’ll have guidance (so you don’t have to Google everything at 11:47 PM) - You’ll have community (so you’re never the odd one out) - You’ll have a plan (without being locked into a schedule)

A quick note on “hosted” (so expectations are crystal clear)

I’ll be with you on the sailing, and I love connecting with my people on board—but this isn’t an escorted tour where I’m available 24/7.

To keep things fun, relaxed, and realistic for everyone, we’ll have one dedicated hour each day for our group during my onboard “Happy Hour”.

That means: - You get face-time with me daily to say hi, ask quick questions, and connect with fellow travelers - You still have full freedom to enjoy your vacation your way - You’re never stuck waiting on a schedule (because you didn’t come on this cruise to be managed)

Think of it like the best kind of home base: one hour a day with me + a whole ship full of possibilities the rest of the time.

The Holiday Hosting Detox Playbook (steal this!)

If you want this trip to feel like the best kind of holiday tradition, here’s how we do it:

1) Pick your “holiday anchor”

Choose one moment that becomes the signature memory: - A special dinner onboard - A toast under the stars - A “we actually did it” photo that becomes your favorite frame

2) Plan one “everyone together” port day—not all of them

For friends and families, this is the magic formula: - Do one shared adventure - Keep the rest flexible This prevents vacation from turning into a committee meeting (and we don’t do committees on vacation).

3) Treat sea days like recovery days

Sea days are where the detox really works. - Sleep in - Get a latte and sit somewhere pretty - Walk, spa, nap, repeat - Read something that isn’t work-related (novel concept, I know)

4) Let me handle the mental load

Cabin choices, travel protection, payment schedules, who should room with whom, and “Wait, what do we do in each port?” — this is what I do, and I do it well.

Because you deserve to enjoy the holiday season without carrying it on your back.

If you’re the one who always hosts… read this twice

If you’re the person who makes the magic happen every year, you’re also the person who deserves to actually feel the magic.

Because life is too short for bucket lists—live it.

Check out this amazing cruise by clicking here: https://shoresandmoretravel.vip/SeaYaLater2026 and if you’re not ready to plan just yet, join my Live It List Club where you’ll receive travel tips, destination inspiration, and exclusive content—delivered straight to your inbox.

The Holiday Hosting Detox: Why “Let Someone Else Do Christmas” Is the New Luxury (Hello, Sea Ya Later 2026)

If your idea of a perfect couples’ vacation includes white-sand beaches and stories you’ll still be telling at dinner parties next year, the Riviera Maya belongs at the top of your list. This stretch of Mexico’s Caribbean coast—anchored by Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum—delivers the best of both worlds: sun-soaked downtime paired with bucket-list adventures you can actually fit into a long weekend or a full week away.

As a travel advisor, I’ve noticed something interesting: when couples say they want an “adventurous” getaway, they usually don’t mean constant chaos. They mean easy, memorable fun—the kind that feels exciting without being exhausting. They want to snorkel in a cenote, float a lazy river, ride a waterslide, explore a jungle trail… and still come back to a gorgeous room, a great cocktail, and a dinner that feels like a date night.

That’s why choosing the right resort matters so much. In the Riviera Maya, the best adventure vacations aren’t about doing the most—they’re about staying somewhere that makes adventure effortless.

Below are my top three resort picks for couples who love adventure, plus the simple framework I use to match the right resort to the right couple.

The “Adventure Couples” Resort Match Formula (Use This Before You Book)

Before we get into the resorts, here are the three things I look for when planning adventure-forward trips for couples:

Built-in access to experiences
The best adventure resorts either include activities on-site or make it incredibly easy to get to parks, excursions, and natural attractions—without complex logistics.

Balance: adrenaline + recovery
Adventure is more fun when you can recover well. Think great pools, spa options, comfortable rooms, and food that feels like a reward at the end of the day.

The right vibe for your relationship
Some couples want high-energy and social. Others want quiet luxury and curated experiences. Your resort should match your style, not someone else’s Instagram.

Now, let’s talk about three resorts that consistently deliver for adventurous couples in Cancun and the Riviera Maya.

Jungle-to-sea luxury escape in Riviera Maya

1) Hotel Xcaret Mexico: All-Inclusive Adventure on a Next Level Scale

If you’re the kind of couple that hates “wasting time figuring it out,” Hotel Xcaret Mexico is a dream because it’s designed around immersive experiences. This is not the type of all-inclusive where you’re limited to a pool and a buffet. It’s an all-inclusive concept built for couples who want variety—and love having options.

Why adventurous couples love it:

A huge range of experiences and excursions tied to the Xcaret ecosystem

Easy access to parks and adventure attractions (perfect if you want to do a lot without overplanning)

Stunning setting with views that feel like you’re waking up inside the destination—Caribbean water, jungle scenes, and river views

What it feels like:

You wake up, step onto your balcony, and the day already feels like it has momentum. You can pack in park days and excursions, then shift into relaxation mode at the end of the day—spa time, cocktails, and a dinner that feels like a reward.

Best for:

Couples who want a “choose-your-own-adventure” vacation with minimal friction and maximum variety.

Riviera Maya resort views, pool-to-lagoon bliss

2) Hotel Xcaret Arte: Adventure With a Creative Twist (Adults-Only)

If you love the Xcaret style of adventure but want something with a more refined, adults-only feel, Hotel Xcaret Arte takes the concept in a direction that’s both romantic and creative.

The standout difference? Artistic workshops layered into the experience. It’s ideal for couples who want adventure, but also want to come home feeling like they did something different—something that’s not just “another beach vacation.”

Why adventurous couples love it:

Adults-only atmosphere with elevated date-night energy

Access to the same broader adventure ecosystem as its sister property

Creative workshop options that add a unique “experience” layer to the trip

Room tip for couples:

Swim-up suites can be a great fit if you like the idea of slipping into the water without turning it into a whole event—perfect for quick resets between adventures.

Best for:

Couples who want adults-only adventure with an artsy, elevated vibe—romantic, memorable, and not overly “spring break.”

Secluded beachfront escape with turquoise calm

3) Sandos Caracol Eco Resort: Nature-Forward Adventure With a Fun, Active Feel

If your ideal vacation includes the words eco, nature, and active, you’ll love the energy at Sandos Caracol Eco Resort. This property leans into the surrounding natural environment, which makes it a great match for couples who get excited about exploring and staying moving.

Why adventurous couples love it:

Strong “nature immersion” feel—more jungle energy, more eco vibe

Activities that keep your days fun and varied

Great for couples who want a lively atmosphere with plenty to do

Picture a day that starts with a natural adventure (like snorkeling in a cenote), shifts into playful fun (waterslides, lazy river vibes), and ends with low-key downtime by the pool or with on-site entertainment.

Best for:

Couples who want an active, eco-influenced resort experience and love a mix of nature + play.

So… Which One Is Right for You?

Here’s the quick version:

Hotel Xcaret Mexico = maximum variety, effortless adventure, “let’s do it all” energy

Hotel Xcaret Arte = adults-only, elevated romance, adventure + creative experiences

Sandos Caracol Eco Resort = nature-forward, active days, eco vibe and fun variety

And here’s the honest truth: the “best” resort depends less on what’s popular and more on what kind of adventure you actually want. Are you:

The couple that wants nonstop experiences and a packed itinerary?

The couple that wants adventure with romance and a refined vibe?

The couple that wants nature immersion and playful activities?

This is exactly where working with a travel advisor changes everything—because instead of guessing, you get a plan built around your style, your budget, and the kind of memories you’re chasing.

Ready to Plan Your Riviera Maya Adventure?

Contact me today to start planning your next adventure! And if you’re not ready to plan just yet, join my Live It List Club where you’ll receive travel tips, destination inspiration, and exclusive content—delivered straight to your inbox.

- Updated February 2026 -

Vacation in the Riviera Maya with Adventure: How to Choose the Right Resort for Couples Who Want More Than “Just Relaxing”

When travelers begin researching European river cruises, one question surfaces almost immediately:

“Is the pre-cruise land stay actually worth it?”

Effortless days on the Rhine

On paper, a few nights in Amsterdam before a Rhine River cruise can look like a pleasant bonus—or an optional upgrade you could skip without consequence. But for seasoned travelers and first-time river cruisers alike, those first two nights often become the difference between enjoying the cruise and fully embracing it.

As a travel advisor who specializes in European river cruising, I’ve watched this play out again and again. Travelers who begin their journey in Amsterdam arrive onboard calmer, more present, and more connected to the experience from day one.

That isn’t accidental—it’s by design.

Why the First Two Nights Shape the Entire Journey

International travel into Europe almost always involves jet lag, mental fatigue, and a degree of sensory overload. When travelers land and immediately board a ship, the first day or two are often spent recovering rather than exploring.

A pre-cruise land stay changes that dynamic completely.

Arriving a few days early allows travelers to:

Adjust to the time zone naturally

Ease into European life rather than rush into it

Explore without the pressure of a packed schedule

This isn’t about indulgence. It’s about pacing—one of the most overlooked components of truly luxurious travel.

When travelers feel rested and grounded before embarkation, everything that follows feels richer and more enjoyable.

Where castles meet the Rhine

Why Amsterdam Is the Ideal Starting Point

Amsterdam is uniquely suited as a pre-cruise gateway city, especially for Rhine River itineraries.

The city is compact, walkable, and visually calming. Its canals create a rhythm that feels grounding after a long flight, while its neighborhoods offer depth without requiring constant movement. You can wander, pause, and observe—luxuries in themselves.

Culturally, Amsterdam provides context. Its maritime history, architecture, and trading legacy naturally set the stage for what travelers will experience along the Rhine in Germany, France, and Switzerland.

Rather than boarding the ship disoriented or rushed, guests step onboard feeling oriented and curious—ready to engage, not recover.

The Emotional Advantage Most Travelers Don’t Anticipate

One of the most powerful benefits of a pre-cruise stay has little to do with logistics.

Travelers who begin with a land stay tend to feel:

More relaxed during embarkation

More socially engaged with fellow guests

More present during early excursions

They aren’t playing catch-up. They’re already in the moment.

River cruising is immersive by nature. When guests feel calm from the start, they absorb more—history, scenery, conversations, even cuisine. The experience doesn’t just happen around them; it lands with intention.

Seamless Transitions Matter More Than You Think

Another advantage of a coordinated pre-cruise stay is continuity.

When hotels, transfers, guided tours, and embarkation are thoughtfully arranged—such as those offered by AmaWaterways—travelers don’t have to manage logistics in an unfamiliar city. There’s no worrying about hotel locations, transportation timing, or navigating the city independently while tired.

That kind of orchestration reduces stress and builds trust in the journey as a whole.

For travelers who value efficiency and thoughtful design, this seamless transition feels like modern luxury at its best.

Is a Pre-Cruise Stay Right for Everyone?

An honest answer matters here: not every traveler needs a pre-cruise stay.

Those who travel internationally often, experience minimal jet lag, or prefer to maximize time onboard may choose to arrive closer to embarkation—and that can work well for them.

But for first-time river cruisers, long-haul flyers, or travelers who value ease and immersion, a pre-cruise stay often becomes one of the most appreciated parts of the entire journey.

Many travelers who initially questioned the value later tell me it was the smartest decision they made. “I’ve had many clients who at first said, no I just want to get right to the ship, and I’ve had them take a day or two to get “adjusted” to their new surroundings, come home and thank me. They didn’t realize that once they got off the plane in the morning how tired they would be and how they would like to refresh, rest, have a nice meal walk around a bit and then the next day or two and they are ready to really enjoy the river cruise to its fullest. Instead of being tired and missing out on the first couple of days of the river cruise that they had been anticipating for months on end. ~Tina Moczynski, Cruising Specialist, Shores And More Travel.

When a “Bonus” Becomes a Strategic Advantage

Occasionally, cruise lines include a complimentary pre-cruise land stay as part of a promotion. When that happens, it reframes the decision entirely.

What was once considered an upgrade becomes an opportunity to enhance the entire experience—without adding complexity or cost.

For travelers considering a Rhine Castles & Swiss Alps itinerary, beginning with two nights in Amsterdam allows the journey to unfold naturally rather than abruptly.

You don’t rush into Europe.
You ease into it.

The Bottom Line

Luxury travel today isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing things well.

A pre-cruise stay in Amsterdam isn’t just an add-on. It’s a pacing tool, a confidence builder, and a way to ensure that the first moments of a river cruise are enjoyed, not endured.

For travelers who value calm, clarity, and thoughtful design, those first two nights often set the tone for everything that follows.

And in travel—as in life—how something begins matters more than we think.

Where to Go From Here

If a Rhine River cruise with a beautifully paced beginning in Amsterdam feels like the kind of travel you’d truly enjoy, I’d love to help you explore what that could look like for you. Contact me today to start planning your next adventure, and we’ll talk through timing, fit, and whether this journey aligns with how you want to travel next.

And if you’re not quite ready to plan just yet, I invite you to join my Live It List Club—my email list where I share travel tips, destination inspiration, and exclusive content designed to help you travel smarter, not faster. Amsterdam Before the Cruise: Luxury Add-On or the Secret to Loving Your River Cruise?

If you’ve been researching Norwegian cruises lately, you’ve likely come across two phrases that sound almost interchangeable—but aren’t: Free at Sea and Free at Sea Plus. On the surface, both promise value, convenience, and a more inclusive cruise experience. But here’s the truth most travelers don’t hear upfront:

These two offers are designed for different types of cruisers.
And choosing the wrong one can leave you either overpaying—or wishing you’d upgraded.

As a travel advisor who plans Norwegian sailings every day, I help clients slow this decision down and choose based on how they actually travel, not just what sounds better in an ad.

Let’s break it down clearly.

Sunset serenity from the comfort of your stateroom

First, What Is Norwegian’s Free at Sea?

Offered by Norwegian Cruise Line, Free at Sea is the brand’s long-standing value package that bundles popular onboard perks into your cruise fare. Depending on the sailing, it typically includes:

An open bar beverage package

Specialty dining meals or credits

Shore excursion credits

Wi-Fi minutes

For many travelers, this creates peace of mind. Instead of deciding onboard what to spend on drinks or dining, you know the basics are already covered.

Free at Sea is designed to remove friction.
It’s about simplicity, not excess.

Who Free at Sea Is Best For

Free at Sea works exceptionally well for travelers who:

Enjoy cocktails, wine, or beer—but not premium brands

Plan to dine in specialty restaurants once or twice

Use Wi-Fi primarily for messages, email, or light browsing

Like having structure around onboard spending

These are often travelers who value clarity over indulgence. They want to know what’s included, what’s not, and where the boundaries are.

In other words: intentional cruisers.

Many of my clients who choose standard Free at Sea say the same thing afterward:

"We felt taken care of without feeling like we were paying for things we didn’t need.”

That’s a win.

So What Changes with Free at Sea Plus?

Free at Sea Plus is an optional upgrade that builds on the standard package by expanding coverage and removing more “nickel-and-dime” moments.

Depending on the sailing, Plus may include:

Premium spirits and higher-end wines

Starbucks beverages

Unlimited streaming-capable Wi-Fi

Prepaid service charges

Discounts on additional specialty dining

The key difference isn’t just what is included—it’s how it feels onboard.

Free at Sea Plus is about effortlessness.

Who Free at Sea Plus Is Best For

Free at Sea Plus tends to be a strong fit for travelers who:

Prefer top-shelf cocktails or specialty coffee daily

Stay connected for streaming, FaceTime, or remote work

Don’t want to think about gratuities or add-on costs

Value an “everything’s handled” experience

This option resonates with travelers who want to relax deeply—without keeping track.

I often describe it this way:
Free at Sea simplifies your cruise. Free at Sea Plus quiets your mind.

Oceanfront dining with a side of sea breeze

The Mistake Many Travelers Make

The most common mistake isn’t choosing the “wrong” package—it’s choosing based on fear of missing out.

Some travelers upgrade to Plus thinking it’s automatically the better deal. Others stick with standard Free at Sea because they don’t want to overspend—only to discover they’re paying à la carte onboard anyway.

The right question isn’t:
“Which one has more value?”

It’s:
“Which one matches how I vacation?”

When your cruise inclusions align with your habits, the experience feels smooth. When they don’t, even a great deal can feel disappointing.

Why This Decision Matters More Than the Price

Cruises are emotional purchases. The goal isn’t just to sail—it’s to feel relaxed while you do.

Choosing between Free at Sea and Free at Sea Plus is really about choosing between:

Structure vs. flexibility

Included basics vs. expanded ease

Awareness vs. effortlessness

Neither is wrong. But one is usually right for you.

That’s where guidance makes a difference. “I always tell my clients that you need to find the best fit for your vacation. Just because a friend or family member told you about what they chose was the best – doesn’t mean it’s the best for you. You need to take into consideration your vacation and vacation style.” ~ Tina Moczynski, Cruise Expert, Shores And More Travel.

Final Thoughts (and Your Next Step)

If you’re ready to explore which Norwegian cruise—and which Free at Sea option—fits your travel style, contact me today to start planning your next adventure!

And if you’re still in the dreaming and researching phase, I invite you to join my Live It List Club —where you’ll receive travel tips, destination inspiration, and exclusive insights delivered straight to your inbox.

No pressure. Free at Sea vs. Free at Sea Plus: Who Each One Is Actually Designed For

Travel has evolved beyond sightseeing and checklists. Today’s travelers are looking for experiences that nourish them — physically, mentally, and emotionally. They want vacations that feel indulgent but balanced, social but not overwhelming, and memorable without being exhausting.

This shift is why cruises that focus on food, wellness, and lifestyle are gaining traction — and why Virgin Voyages continues to resonate with travelers who want more than a traditional cruise.

For travelers who believe how you travel matters just as much as where you go, this style of cruising feels like a natural fit.

Brunch vibes worth traveling for

Food Is No Longer a Perk — It’s a Priority

Dining as part of the destination

For many travelers, food isn’t an afterthought — it’s a deciding factor. Culinary experiences have become central to how people choose vacations, and cruising has had to evolve to keep up.

Virgin Voyages approaches dining the way modern travelers prefer to eat on land: with choice, flexibility, and intention. Instead of a single main dining room, guests enjoy access to multiple distinct restaurants, each with its own concept, atmosphere, and globally inspired menus.

Meals feel relaxed, unrushed, and experiential — not scheduled or obligatory. For food lovers, this transforms the cruise from a trip with meals into a journey defined by them.

Wellness Built Into the Experience — Not Added On

A more balanced way to travel

Wellness travel isn’t about extremes — it’s about balance. Travelers want options that allow them to move, rest, indulge, and reset without pressure.

Virgin Voyages weaves wellness into the onboard experience in a way that feels accessible and natural. Fitness classes, wellness-focused spaces, spa experiences, and opportunities for mindful movement are part of the ship’s rhythm — not isolated extras.

This appeals to travelers who want to return home feeling restored, not depleted.

A Lifestyle-Forward Approach to Cruising

Ships that feel intentional and modern

Design plays a powerful role in how we experience travel. The ships are intentionally styled to feel modern, open, and calming — more boutique hotel than traditional cruise ship.

Public spaces invite conversation or quiet reflection. Social energy exists without being forced. There’s room to engage and room to retreat.

This balance attracts travelers who appreciate thoughtful design and want their environment to enhance, not overwhelm, their vacation.

Sipping sunshine, living the good life

Why This Style of Cruising Resonates With Modern Travelers

Experiences over schedules

Today’s travelers value freedom. They want to shape their days based on how they feel, not a rigid itinerary.

Lifestyle-driven cruising supports that flexibility — allowing travelers to choose when to dine, when to relax, when to socialize, and when to unplug.

Indulgence without excess

Food-forward and wellness-focused cruising isn’t about doing everything. It’s about doing what feels right. Travelers can enjoy incredible dining, cocktails, and entertainment — while also prioritizing rest, movement, and balance.

That sense of choice is what makes the experience feel elevated.

Who This Type of Cruise Is Perfect For

Food lovers who plan trips around dining

Wellness-minded travelers seeking balance, not burnout

Couples who want connection without distraction

Solo travelers who enjoy curated social energy

First-time cruisers who never felt traditional cruising fit their lifestyle

Many of these travelers don’t identify as “cruise people” — until they experience a cruise that aligns with how they already travel on land.

Why Planning Matters for Lifestyle-Driven Cruising

Matching the experience to your priorities

When food, wellness, and atmosphere matter, thoughtful planning becomes essential. Choosing the right itinerary, cabin, and onboard experiences can significantly shape the trip.

A knowledgeable travel advisor helps travelers:

Align the cruise with their lifestyle and expectations

Understand what’s included and what’s optional

Avoid assumptions based on outdated cruise models

Design a vacation that feels intentional from start to finish

More Than a Vacation — A Reset

Why travelers are choosing experiences that restore

At its best, travel should leave you feeling inspired and renewed. Lifestyle-forward cruising offers exactly that — time to enjoy great food, reconnect with yourself or others, and experience something thoughtfully designed.

For many travelers, this isn’t just a vacation. It’s a reset. “Each time I have sailed on Virgin Voyages I have come back relaxed and refreshed. Between the elevated food experiences, the feel of being at a resort, and the fun of the ship, it’s a great way to let go, reset and come back refreshed.” – Tina Moczynski, Cruising Expert, Shores And More Travel.

Let’s Plan an Experience That Fits You

Travel should feel as good as it looks

If food, wellness, and lifestyle are part of how you choose your vacations, I’d love to help you explore whether a Virgin Voyages sailing is the right fit.

Contact me today to start planning your next adventure!

And if you’re not ready to plan just yet, I invite you to join my Live It List Club, where you’ll receive travel tips, destination inspiration, and exclusive content — delivered straight to your inbox.

Why Virgin Voyages Appeals to Food Lovers, Wellness Seekers, and Travelers Who Want More Than a Vacation

One of the biggest shifts in modern travel has nothing to do with where people are going — it has everything to do with how clearly they understand what they’re booking.

Today’s travelers want honesty, flexibility, and control. They want to know what’s included in their vacation, what’s optional, and how their choices affect the overall experience. This desire for transparency has become especially important in cruising, where pricing structures have historically felt confusing or inconsistent.

That’s why modern cruise brands like Virgin Voyages are resonating with travelers who value clarity as much as experience.

The Modern Traveler Expects Transparency

Why clarity is now a deciding factor

Travelers today are informed and intentional. They research before they book and want fewer surprises once they’re on vacation. Unexpected fees or unclear inclusions can quickly diminish trust and enjoyment.

Transparency creates confidence. When travelers understand the full picture upfront, they can relax, enjoy the journey, and feel good about the decisions they’ve made.

Cheers to sunsets and sea breezes 🍻🌅

What Virgin Voyages Includes in Their Fare

Dining at any restaurant — included

One of the most refreshing aspects of Virgin Voyages is its approach to dining. Every restaurant onboard is included in the cruise fare.

There are no “main dining room versus specialty restaurant” distinctions. No upcharges just to enjoy a different menu. No rigid dining schedules that dictate your evening.

Instead, travelers can:

Dine at any restaurant onboard

Enjoy globally inspired, chef-driven menus

Eat when they're hungry, not when they're scheduled

Experience restaurant-style service in thoughtfully designed spaces

For travelers who value food as part of the journey, this creates a sense of freedom and ease that feels far more aligned with how they dine on land.

Core experiences are built into the fare

In addition to dining, the cruise fare includes many of the experiences travelers expect to be part of a well-designed vacation:

Immersive entertainment and live shows

Group fitness classes

Wi-Fi connectivity

Access to onboard amenities and public space

Rather than constantly encountering upsells for basic enjoyment, travelers can settle into the experience without feeling nickel-and-dimed.

Cruise your way — only pay for what you want ⚓🍹🧖‍♀️

What’s Optional — And Why That’s Intentional

Choice over forced bundling

Some elements, such as gratuities, premium beverages, spa services, and curated experiences, are not bundled into the base fare. This is a deliberate design choice.

By keeping certain items optional, travelers gain more control over:

How they spend their budget

Which experiences truly matter to them

The overall cost of their vacation

Instead of paying upfront for things they may not use, travelers can personalize their cruise — a model that reflects modern travel preferences.

How This Compares to Traditional Cruise Pricing

A different philosophy, not a different value

On many traditional cruises, dining options may be tiered, with certain restaurants carrying additional fees or limited access. Entertainment, Wi-Fi, or wellness offerings may also come with added costs that aren’t always clear at the time of booking.

Virgin Voyages takes a different approach. Rather than restricting access and charging to “unlock” experiences, the fare is designed to include the core of what makes the cruise enjoyable — while leaving room for optional personalization.

The result isn’t necessarily spending more or less — it’s spending more intentionally.

Why Transparency Leads to Better Vacations

Expectations shape experiences

When travelers know exactly what’s included and what’s optional, they can plan confidently and enjoy the experience fully. Transparency eliminates guesswork, reduces stress, and allows travelers to focus on what matters most: enjoying their time away.

This clarity also transforms the role of the travel advisor from salesperson to guide — someone who helps travelers navigate options, ask the right questions, and align choices with their travel style. “I try to work with my clients to find out exactly what THEY are looking for in their vacation so that they get the best experience possible. Whether it’s taking a cruise or a land based vacation.” – Tina Moczynski, Cruising Specialist – Shores And More Travel.

Why Working With a Travel Advisor Matters

Expertise brings clarity

With flexible pricing and customizable experiences, professional guidance is more valuable than ever. A knowledgeable travel advisor helps travelers:

Understand fare structures clearly

Anticipate total trip costs

Choose the right itinerary and cabin

Avoid assumptions based on outdated cruise models

The goal isn’t just to book a cruise — it’s to ensure the experience feels exactly as expected.

Transparency Is the Future of Cruising

Why clarity builds trust

Cruising is evolving alongside traveler expectations. Clear communication, flexible options, and honest conversations about inclusions are no longer extras — they’re essentials.

Virgin Voyages reflects this evolution by empowering travelers with information and choice, allowing them to plan vacations that feel intentional, personalized, and stress-free.

Let’s Plan With Confidence

Your next adventure deserves clarity, not guesswork

If understanding what’s included, what’s optional, and how to plan a cruise with confidence matters to you, I’d love to help.

Contact me today to start planning your next adventure!

And if you’re not ready to plan just yet, I invite you to join my Live It List Club, where you’ll receive travel tips, destination inspiration, and exclusive content — delivered straight to your inbox.
